Staging area and Route Description

This ride will be staged at 84 Lafarge Lane, Londonderry NS. https://goo.gl/maps/L8fADa1HcNDKAnBQ6

This ride will provide two route options: Novice and Intermediate/Advanced. All riders should be familiar with their bike, have trail riding experience, and come ready to meet new riders and explore new trails! Both routes have been laid out to provide alternate trails based on group preferences/technical abilities and each will provide beautiful scenery surrounded by the fall colours.

Novice Riders

Novice riders can expect a combination of tight woods trails, gravel roads and an introduction to single track with some sections including loose rocks, puddles and bridge crossings that will be accessible but challenging for most novice riders.

Intermediate-Advanced Riders

Intermediate-Advanced riders can expect a mix of wood roads and single track, with hill climbs rocks and routes that will be accessible but challenging for most intermediate riders. Mentors will be stationed to provide coaching and assistance as needed throughout the ride. This will ensure all riders are able to conquer their ride with confidence!

Ride Day Run Down

09:30 - Rider Check In: All riders will check in to ensure an accurate count for the ride.

10:00 - Rider Safety Meeting: Safety and etiquette will be reviewed for the ride. Lead and sweep riders will be introduced and an orientation to the trail will be given so all riders understand what is to come on the day’s ride.

10:30 - Ride Begins: Riders will be separated into their respective group to ensure they embark on the route appropriate to their level of ability and preference for the ride. Each group will start their rides with sweep riders in place to assist each as needed.

12:00 - 1:00 BBQ lunch/social: A barbecue social (hamburger/hot dog and beverage) is included in the cost of the ride. The Novice ride will end back at the staging area prior to the start of lunch, allowing riders to use the washroom, gear down as needed, and socialize with other riders. Intermediate riders will break for lunch at a separate location central to their afternoon ride.

1:00 – Intermediate ride continues. An optional guided ride for family/novice riders may also be offered.

3:00 - Ride end: All rides will end no later than 3:00pm, however afternoon ride times will vary based on location and group preference/ability.
