Come join us for our third Work and Ride of the season. 

Hopefully the weather cooperates but check Facebook and our website for updates as this date is weather dependent.

The schedule will be as follows:

9:00 safety meeting, appreciation gifts may be provided

9:15 work crews will start the trail maintenance

12:00 hot dogs and drinks

1:00 bring your bike so you can ride the trails that you worked on in the morning.  You must be an NSORRA member to ride

Chainsaw and clearing saw use will be limited. These tasks have been assigned to individuals with safety training and equipment. If you would like to bring a shovel, pick ax, loppers, etc that would be great!

SAFETY MEETING

Points to be covered include:

1. General Equipment Safety

Stay back a minimum of 20 feet from all excavators, chainsaws,clearing saws, etc that are being operated unless a greater distance is required in the owner’s manual, labour laws, etc. Make your presence known to the operator, from a distance, prior to approaching.

2. Chainsaw and Pole Saw Safety

If the operator is felling a tree, all others need to stay back a minimum of twice the height of the tree.

Helpers need to wear hardhats, ear and eye protection.

3. Clearing Saw Safety

Helpers need to wear eye and ear protection.

4. Dirt bikes and ATVs

These are only to be used during the above working hours as low-speed transport to the next work site using appropriate safety gear.

Remember sun protection, hydration and don't work alone.

Safety is the top priority!
