NSORRA 2023 Sponsors – Thank You!
NSORRA training, hare scrambles, rec rides, Women in Moto, Drive to Ride – what do these all have in common?
FANTASTIC SPONSORS!
No COVID restrictions means more events!
2023 marked the first year since 2020 without COVID restrictions. What did this mean for NSORRA? More opportunity to host events for our members!
Because we try to keep our costs low to encourage participation, these events would not be possible without financial support from our sponsors and funding partners.
Soles In Motion
Soles In Motion returned in a big way as our TITLE sponsor this season. Jen and Chris Estabrooks set up at the Hiltz Road hare scramble to kick off the season. During the event, several riders visited the Soles In Motion tent to be sized for braces. One stop shopping!
The Estabrooks have been supporters of NSORRA for many years and are well known to our members and those in the dirt bike community.
CrossRoads Cycle
This year we had a new sponsor and they came in big time. CrossRoads Cycle joined us as a PLATINUM Sponsor for hare scrambles and also became the NSORRA Rec Ride sponsor. Not stopping there, they also sponsored a training day and handed out discounts to the participants. Special thanks goes out to Chuck Graham who represented CrossRoads at events all over the province and to Lee Weir, owner of CrossRoads, who chose to send his sponsorship dollars our way. Thank you!
Kynock Resources Ltd
A special shout out to PLATINUM Sponsor – Kynock Resources. Owner Brent Pottle offered land on his business’s property for us to run the NSORRA dirt bike school. It is an amazing central location where he allows us to provide great dirt bike training opportunities for our members. We have been building advanced features on site with a plan to offer more advanced skills training in the future.
Sponsorship = Events!
This year, we had GOLD, SILVER and Bronze Sponsorships.
Our annual Drive to Ride returned to Mill Hill this season. GOLD SPONSOR Valley Yamaha-Suzuki’s Kirk Long teamed up with landowner Blaine Prest to sponsor the event.
GOLD SPONSOR Canadian Kawasaki Motors was represented at the South Alton Scramble by Peter and Jeff Easson of Easson’s Powersports (formerly Park Street RV). They brought a cooler of water and handed out prizes. It’s always nice to have sponsors on site.
Cabot Powersports jumped up from BRONZE Sponsor to GOLD Sponsor this year and was our Craigmore Hare Scramble Sponsor. As the biggest motorcycle dealer in Cape Breton, it was great to see them take on this event which attracted a great crowd of Capers.
Shore Cycle and Marine was this year’s GOLD sponsor for the Beaver Ride Park Scramble. It was quite a distance away, but this event fit their schedule the best. Though Fred and Cathy were not able to make it this year, they sent NSORRA’s favourite dad – Danny Gray – to staff their tent even though Danny was a grandfather of two days to Expert Rider Devin Gray’s new baby. Danny handed out prizes and lots of goodies at the scramble while raising money for Feed Nova Scotia – much appreciated!
When it comes to the scrambles, everyone is familiar with GOLD sponsor Truro Motorsports. Randy McLeod donated the prized red Holeshot t-shirts this year that were awarded to winners.
Beta Canada stepped into a GOLD sponsor position this season. Many thanks to Stephen Howland who sponsored our training with a BETA X-trainer which we picked up at RPM Cycle. Beta Canada support for NSORRA continues to be outstanding.
Liberty CC also returned as a GOLD sponsor. They hosted a bike clinic at their shop and a Women In Moto event at Callus Raceway where women could participate in a dirt bike demo course, beginner and intermediate trail rides and beginner and intermediate MX.
Stuart Buck of Triple S Cycle Works is our superstar SILVER sponsor. If there is anything he can do to support NSORRA and dirt bike riders, he is there! From clearing trails to attending events and even acting as a sweep rider, we could always count on Stuart and his team to lend a hand.
Jungle Jim’s – Bayers Lake owner Bruce Skinner returned as a SILVER sponsor this season. Besides participating in our hare scrambles, Bruce also donated several hundred dollars in gift certificates for his restaurant. On behalf of those prize winners, thank you, Bruce!
Pro Cycle and RPM Cycle came on as BRONZE sponsors this season. They were joined by new BRONZE Sponsors The Sled Shed who stepped up from corporate sponsor last season, Steele Recreation who moved from corporate sponsor to BRONZE sponsor and Backman Heating and Cooling, owned by NSORRA member Ryan Backman. It is so wonderful to have this grassroots support from our members.
We also have several other Scramble sponsors who we’d like to thank. Fly Racing (through Mountain Sports Distribution), Callus Moto, Zoom Cleaning Products, and Kwik Kopy Halifax.
We would not have been able to put on this series without all the financial support from these sponsors. We ask all of our members to support these organizations that support us.
Funding Partners
We also receive grants through three groups. These funds help ensure our non-profit association stays afloat by subsidizing core expenses.
- The Nova Scotia government through:
- OHVIF – the Off Highway Vehicle Infrastructure Fund and
- CCTH – Communities, Culture, Tourism and Heritage
- Moto Canada – formerly the Canadian Off-Highway Vehicle Distributors Council
Thanks for making NSORRA what it is today -
the voice of offroad motorcycling in Nova Scotia!
