Increasing linear trail across the province has long been an NSORRA goal and in 2022, this goal has become a reality. The Fundy Trails Snowmobile Club (FTSC) has officially become the first NSORRA club in the province.

Wentworth popular amongst rec riders

The Wentworth area is a popular riding destination for dirt bikers due to its elevation changes and untouched beauty. It is estimated that the summertime-use trails, managed by FTSC, total approximately 630 km. These trails extend from Earltown to Castlereagh, a distance of 50 km as the crow flies.

2021 NSORRA Rec Ride in Wentworth

NSORRA hosted a very successful recreational ride day from the FTSC clubhouse in the fall of 2021. The event included beginner and intermediate rides and showcased what the area has to offer. The event was so successful that the participants organized another ride in the area in the weeks that followed. The new NSORRA club will encourage more organized group rides in the future.

Growing NSORRA membership

NSORRA is recognized by dealers and government as the voice of dirt bikers in the province. Of course influence grows along with membership. The formation of this club will allow NSORRA to grow its presence in northern Nova Scotia as dirt bikers looking for trails in the Wentworth area join both NSORRA and FTSC to gain access to the trails.

As a club, FTSC educates their members on trail movement and encourages members to become compliant with provincial legislation and expectations of all stakeholders.

The formation of our first club will allow NSORRA to demonstrate and increase our contribution to linear trails, beyond the contributions that our members already make across the province.

How to join FTSC

If you would like to join the FTSC, click on "Membership" in the following link: http://fundytrailsnowmobileclub.ca/.

There are two options on this page:

  • Register with a $25 e-transfer. You will need to include a message that includes your email and your NSORRA individual or family registration number(s).

OR

  • Register with a $27 (including the transaction fee) payment through PayPal. After you pay, send your email and NSORRA individual or family membership number(s) to Neil Jennings at NeilJennings32@gmail.com.

Once this is completed, you will then be members of the NSORRA club.

For an additional $10 deposit, members will receive key fobs for 24/7 clubhouse access except when the clubhouse has been rented for special events. Members will also receive club newsletters that will inform them of work and rides, rallies, meetings, recreational rides, and other events.

NSORRA hopes to continue growing access for its members through cooperation with other trail user groups through the formation of future clubs, possibly in conjunction with our OHV sister associations – ATVANS and SANS.

Neil Jennings, our longstanding Trails Director, continues as co-Director of Trails but will also take on the portfolio of Director of Rec Riding in 2022. An avid dirt biker and snowmobiler, Neil enjoys riding the trails that run past his Wentworth area cottage.
