Callus Sprint Enduro – Growing NSORRA One Event at a Time
A sprint enduro is a stage race with timed segments. Winner for each category has the best combined time.
Preseason warm up!
On April 23, NSORRA worked with Tyler Medaglia and Mitch Cooke to kick off the dirt bike preseason with a fun sprint enduro event at Callus Raceway. NSORRA processed 76 registrations during the week leading up to the event, then provided timing and scoring and sweepers during the sprint enduro; a great success for all involved.

Growing dirt biking in Nova Scotia
It all started with Thistle Hurt Enduro Racing a couple of years ago. Landowners Herb and Sharon Harnish wanted to hold an event and we asked if they would be willing to include it in the NSORRA hare scramble series.
It was a fantastic addition to our race series. We worked with the Harnishes to grow the event into a very successful one where we provided them certain elements such as registration and timing & scoring while they handled the other race-related details.
The Future of NSORRA
It’s challenging to maintain and grow our activities as a non-profit with a few volunteers carrying the weight. The NSORRA Board recognizes this and has been discussing how to continue the growth without being intimately involved in organizing events.
We seem to have found our niche!
We are looking to grow our partnerships with event organizers. If you have an event that we can help with, reach out to Claudine at ED@nsorra.ca and we’ll work with you to make it happen!
PS: Thanks to Barret Ayres for sharing his photos and many thanks to Ray Richard who shared this video of his first full lap in the woods section and the hard enduro loop at the Callus Sprint Enduro!
