Family/Novice Route
Foote Family Farm: 2915 Prospect Road, Cambridge, NS, B0P 1G0
Parking is limited to 25 vehicles so registration will be closed when that number is reached. Riders are asked to carpool when possible.
This ride will be staged from the Foote family’s home and will take approximately 90 minutes to complete. The route will take riders through open hilly fields with beautiful views of the mountain, double-wide woods roads and beginner wooded trails. Riders should have trail riding experience on beginner trails and be ready to have some fun with a new group of riders in the beautiful valley landscape! There may be some opportunity for riders to try out some more technical single track with support of experienced mentors if they are interested and there is time.
The group will loop back to their start point to enjoy a barbeque with their fellow riders from both the family/novice ride as well as the intermediate.
Intermediate Introduction Route parking/staging area
South Alton Ride Park Longitude/ latitude: 44°59'58.1"N 64°31'36.4"W
Parking is limited to 30 vehicles so online registration will be closed when that number is reached. Riders are asked to carpool when possible.
This ride will be staged to begin at the South Alton Ride Park. The morning portion will take riders across the Valley using a series of ATV, powerline and fire road trails that will end at the Family/Novice staging area where the BBQ social will be held. Riders can expect to initially encounter a stretch of rocky and somewhat muddy terrain that may be a challenge for some. The terrain quickly opens for some powerline/fire road riding. This leg of the ride will take 45-60 minutes to complete.
The group will loop back to the Foote family home to enjoy a barbeque with their fellow riders from both the family/novice ride as well as the intermediate.
In the afternoon, the group will be led through the Foote family’s series of single and double track trail where riders will be challenged to overcome a variety of obstacles and terrain. The afternoon route will be adapted to rider skill level and preference following the morning ride. The terrain is varied with rock gardens, hill climbs and descents, tight terrain from intermediate to expert with lots of open ATV trails to break the ride up or provide an alternate route as needed. The length of this leg will be approximately one hour.
The ride will end with the 45-60 minute ride back to the South Alton ride park consisting of mostly fire road and powerline trails, ending with a short section of muddy/rocky terrain.
