Maritime Trial Riders (MTR) return to normal (well almost normal)…
As with all sports and recreational activities, the COVID-19 Pandemic threw a wrench into the start of our season. The first event was postponed from May 10th until June 14th (originally the date of our second event).
Event 1… and 1.1
On June 14th, the NS/NB border was still closed, so with the cooperation of the New Brunswick crew led by Patrick, Nova Scotia and New Brunswick held parallel events on the same day. NS was still restricted to 10 people which meant this was our first ever “sold out” Trials event with a full 10 riders participating.
Both Kevin (in Hantsport, NS) and Patrick (in Dover, NB) along with their helpers, set out six fantastic sections that could be ridden in both directions. All sections had ample space at the start/end gates for social distancing of all riders. We offered four levels of difficulty to challenge riders from Beginner to Advanced, with Intermediate being the largest participating group.
The weather turned out perfectly in both locations and a great deal of fun was had by all that participated. Watch here for video of the NS event. Watch here for video of the NB event.

The scores of both events were combined to count towards the overall season results. Now that the NS/NB border has been opened, we have resumed our series as originally planned (see schedule on the NSORRA - MTR webpage).
