Race
Pushing yourself physically and mentally during what is arguably one of the toughest sports we know of can prove to be rewarding. NSORRA is dedicated to growing the racing community in Nova Scotia.
There are many tiers and levels to race. We always suggest riding with a group you’re comfortable with - and we’re everywhere on race day if you’re looking to figure out which group you should be lining up with.
Racing requires a healthy bike and body as well as a respect for other riders and the facilities we use for racing. Racing is really a family sport and we love seeing families at our events.
Maritime Trials Riders
In addition, NSORRA hosts a series of Motorcycle Trials events. For more information on the fun sport of Trials, check out the Maritime Trials Riders at this link: https://nsorra.ca/maritime-trials-riders
Our Events calendar is updated as events are finalized based on weather and conditions.

Race Classes
All the morning youth classes are arranged in age groups, making it fairly easy to figure out what class you should be in, as well as knowing the minimum bike requirements for that class. The series is structured to allow a child to enter and progress naturally as their age, skills and bike size increases. Mixed classes include: PeeWee, School Kid, Super Mini. Girls 14+ can race Junior (1 hour class) with the boys or jump up to the morning women’s class (90 minutes).
The new morning Sportsman class is generally considered to be the entry level competitive class for anyone older than the morning Junior class. The one-hour competitive class is also for anyone who doesn’t fit into one of the youth classes and who wants to try out a race to see where they should go in a more competitive class. To be fair to all participants, if you enter this class and have a dominant performance (lapping everyone else), you will be removed from the class and not scored in the finish. You will also be automatically moved up to the next class for any future racing. This is NOT the class to enter if you have or are currently racing motocross.
Intermediate B is a step up from Sportsman. If you are a regular woods rider who can ride at a steady pace for longer rides but are new to racing, this is a good place for you to start. If you enter this class and have a dominant performance (lapping everyone else), you will be removed from that class and not scored in the finish, then automatically moved up to the next class for any future racing.
Intermediate A is a good starting point for any past or present motocross riders and experienced, fast woods riders. This is a 2-hour race.
Plus 50 is an age-restricted class of competitive and skilled riders. It runs 1 hours, 45 minutes.
Expert class is where you go if you’ve raced motocross for a number of years or raced other off-road series and were very competitive. This class is for top riders and is appropriately challenging. The race runs for 2.5 hours and requires good stamina.
